Hello everyone,
I was thinking of an office lately because many of my clients really want to see me in person. I work from home and I can not invite strangers to my home.
Considering the fact that our Internet marketing business is something that people do not believe strongly in, do anyone think it's wise to get an office because my business is registered?
I'm thinking because of security issues and I also noticed that most of the Internet marketers I know do not have an office and I was wondering why?
I will like to hear opinions.

This is really trouble, because i also work from home and i can't start recieving clients in my private living room, The office idea is a good one because those who try to run away from it are seen as fraudstars and scammers who hide away so as not to get caught. Office too get whahala, cost of acquiring, staff cost and you must be ready to recieve daily complaints and problems at your desk, but how you go do. I think that it is a matter of of choice, as far as you are able to handle matters about your products effectively and efficiently from your phone, then there is no need for an office. Later Guys!...

I think it is wise for an Internet Marketer to own an office in Nigeria. Firstl, internet marketing is a profession, and the practitioner must be proud of it. Second, it will reduce the misconception of mistaking the practitioner a fraudster or 419. I have come across internet marketers who find it difficult to tell people what he's doing or show people his office address. Since it is a legitimate business I believe the internet marketer should have an office. Unless he or she has a skeleton in the cupboard. Besides, there is need to separate work hours from non-work hours; therefore the need to have enough time for one's family, or relaxation makes it imperative to have an office. This will reduce undue stress, hypertension and other work-related sicknesses.

@ poster, Of course it is. Afterall you registered it with CAC, and you aren't carrying out an illegal biz. You can also add a bookstore to it to make the world no that your work is to sell information both printed and unprinted, online and offline. Have call cards printed. Men... you are the M.D, or have u suddenly forgot?

The answer is resounding YES to the question of whether it is good to own an office. Now, many folks dont really believe in us or believe in what we do for a living. They tag every thing we do as SCAM or 419. This is even putting it mildly. A fellow I will not want to mention his name here said to my face, that am a THIEF. That is the level to which we are subjected to negatively. This incidence forced me to acquire an office space and went back to give the fellow my office address and ask him to invite the EFFC people. I never him since then. So to keep our business afloat we need to have an office if not for anything but to prove to the doubting THOMASES that we have come to stay and nothing can shake us! My fellas out there go get your office space today. You can share one with your business partner. ABI?

To me is a first step to credibility for every internet marketer. I have an office and not just an office, two in numbers and also welcome client inmy private home. In as much i can defend my work, both in certificate and practically, i see no reason to be afraid of anybody including the EFCC. Get one if you want more client offline.

Good Evening to All, I think it's wise for a businessman to own an office,If it is a real one for that matter. An internet Marketer should also see him or her self as a business-person.

If you believe in yourself and your business in terms of trust and credibilty, you must open an office. It should be your priority.
Forget about disastisfied clients. You cannot avoid them in any business. Over time majority of your clients will bear you witness.
And that is all you need.
That is my 2 cents.

I you can think it you can

It is absolutely good for an internet marketer to have an office! If only you can afford it. It make you more real. It is not all of us can succeed as a ghost. Below are some Dos and Don'ts from experts: Maybe you've reached your goal and you can finally work from home, or maybe you're just inching closer to reaching that goal. Whatever your case, you need to know that working from home is a lot harder than you would think. You will be battling distractions and a lack of structure. You will also be constantly battling time, which seems to go three times faster when you work from home.
So, here are some Dos and Dont's to help you if and when you are working from home.
Do: Buy a laptop.
If you don't already have a laptop, get one. It's a tax write-off and the freedom it will give you for when and where you can work is a must.
Don't: Build a home office unless you can really afford it.
If you have the extra cash to build a home office then go for it. But don't borrow any money to do it. While a home office is great and may be a goal of yours, don't borrow money to get it done. You'll just be adding debt at a time when you need to be building your income.
Instead just set up your office in a spare bedroom, or find any space in your house where it's semi-private and livable including the basement or your garage. A couple hundred bucks can dress-up either of those places.
Do: Set a Schedule
This is especially important if you have a family at home or anything else that might distract you.
Have a discussion with anyone else who lives with you and let them know when you scheduled to work. Get them to agree that they won't disturb you while you are working. Post your hours of work on the refrigerator or in another area where everyone will see it.
Be sure to stick to your schedule just the same as you would if you had a boss to answer to.
Don't: Watch television
This is tempting to do - Put your laptop on your legs, settle into your recliner, and flip on the television. The television will distract you and make any project you're working on take much longer than it should.
While you are working, avoid the television at all costs.
Do: Leave the house to work.
If you have too many distractions, get out of the house and work at the local library or at a cafe. All you need is a couple bucks for coffee and Wifi. That's it.
Also, though the idea of working from home is great, there might be times when you feel like you are homebound and you just need to get out.
So whenever you get the opportunity, change your venue. It will keep things fresh and make you happier.
Don't: Work in the middle of chaos.
It's a nice idea to work in the same room where your kids are playing or where your family/friends are hanging out. But it just won't work, mainly because you won't work.
Be sure to always separate yourself from everyone else in the house. If you can't do that then leave the house.
So there are three very important Dos and Dont's for you to follow. Follow these and you are well on your way to achieving success while you work from home.

In the real sense, an office is not necessarily a big well constructed building. An office could simply be a place where business transactions take place. In order words, your office could be your laptop. As an internet marketer, most of your transactions are online and almost all your transactions are done using your computer. So i think if there is any office an internet marketer should have, it should be is computer.
