Multilinks ke? Multilinks is the worst connection you can think of! I have bought glo 3g and it is very fast. I download stuff as big as 30mb in about 7-10minutes and I watch vidoes anyhow. First time I'll do that in all my years online BUT there are a few issues. First, I cannot send out emails, cannot upload with 3g EXCEPT i move down to GPRS. Then more issues with this Glo problem. Just last week my connection went off and I am sure I am not owing. It came back on Saturday and went off again on Sunday morning. Till now, it is not back and I am back in the CyberCafe! I have called customer service and they are telling me trash. No help. When I went to Glo World Ikeja, they did not even attend to me. The guy I spoke to was just spinning some stupid "yarn" - Stay Away from Glo World Ikeja (That's the one on Allen - Opebi). The customer support is terrible. If you must buy this, go to Glo World Okota, if you are around there. They have a better customer support. They've been really helpful although I did not buy from them. Also, I tried this FREE browsing stuff. Mr. Kareem Bankole of gsmcolony.com sent someone from his office to configure for me. It worked ok but the speed was too low for me and it was not accessing my major emails. Tough luck (I should be browsing free now) I have also heard that Visafone is great. if you have info about Internet Connection in Nigeria, please share it o. I am loosing my brain and my clients are NOT happy for delays with their jobs> HELP!!!!!!!!!! ====== Oluwafisayo

I use Starcomms CDMA air card. Well, to be sincere, I'll score it 70%. It gets the job done, though slow at times. But that Internet connectivity from Kareem Bankole has a cheap paid package (N25,000 per month) that is far better compared to the free package. Check it out

Why dont you guys try the mtn 3.5 G Network? Iam actually planning to start using it very soon I think it will be better than the 3.0 G networks around.
By the way where is MTN office located in Ikeja or Lagos in General . Iam new to Lagos and I need some services including the blackberry.

... and don't forget to review the connection critically and let us know if we should go for it or avoid it like a plague.
Enjoy!

There's no such thing as 3.5g; it's just a marketing ploy by mtn as usual. Expect their 3g service to be horrible. I have their sharkpod and i regret ever buying the damn thing. I have sworn off anything MTN. if u're interested in 3g i suggest u go for glo. I don't have the 3g connection because i am in the south east but expect their connection to be the best available. I would rather use 5 different glo products than use one of mtn. I have 3 different connections and as oga fisayo said i'm still going thru wahala. The truth is that reliable internet connection in naija is far from being uhuru. Those in lagos are even lucky compared to those of us outside lagos. But anybody interested in broadband can try these guys www.iwirelessng.net. There are lots of rave reviews about their services in nairaland.

Men!!!!!!!!!! Iam confused of which one to go for you really discourage me of using MTN and Fisayo said The Glo in Allen -Opebi has not solved his problem in a favourable manner.
What can I do?
The reason why I want MTn is because I want to get there Blackberry annd the connection so that even if Iam out of Lag I can use it.
I also heard about the i wireless but I dont know anything about them and I thought the MTN will be better than it. But I thing I will review the iwireless and know whats up before I start regreting.
Pleas if you have any information on the iwireless that will help let us know.

Well.. you can go for Glo. As far as I know, it is better than your worst connection (MTN) which I bought a while back and it only connected about 2 or 4times. At the end of the month, I was sent a bill. I don't even know where I dumped the sim If you will use Glo, you have to beware of a few things. First, the 15k you pay per month is not a guarantee that you will use the connection throughout the month. Those guys are really funny.. There is a limit to what you can use and when you exceed it, they will block you and you will start loading credit as if you want to make calls. Don't say I did not tell you because when they are selling it to you, they won't tell you nothing! The question I keep asking myself is this: if I end up not using all the 15k worth of allotment, would they give me change? You see "wayo" abi you no see am? -------- Oluwafisayo

Hello folks, Glad you guys are having such helpful discussions. You are hitting the nail on the head here - internet connection has been frustrating in this side of the world. Recently when a journalist of one of the Nigerian dailies came to interview me on the prospects of Internet Marketing in Nigeria, he got around to asking me about the challenges I am facing in this business. Next to electricity, I was quick to mention internet access.
Imagine my coming here to read that everyone is facing the same challenge, and I was thinking the problem was peculiar to my IS Provider alone! Reading about it here prompted me on a course of action and I took on recommendations from people including from you guys here. I have since tested quite a few and I am reporting back - iWireless is wonderful. I just hope they keep it up. The aspect I like most about it is the 'plug and play' feature - no ceremony, no hassle, just plug it into your computer and you are online.
However, there is no in-built power back-up which means that you should use UPS with it. But who cares? That is no brainer at all. So guys, go check out iWireless. Have a wonderful day.
